How Does Coaching Work? Our approach to leadership coaching is developed based on the specific goals and intentions sought by our client. The process of coaching is set out in writing, in an agreement signed by the client and the coach. The purpose of the agreement is to identify expectations both of the client and the coach, and the agreement may be terminated without cost at any time by either party. Generally, coaching is done in a series of eight-to-ten sessions (usually for about an hour each), over a two-to-three month period. Periodically throughout the agreed-upon period, the client and coach share their assessments regarding progress towards the client's goals, to help ensure continued development.
